From July 22 to 26, 2024, the International Cryogenic Engineering Conference and International Cryogenic Materials Conference 2024 (ICEC29-ICMC 2024) was successfully held in Geneva, Switzerland.
At the conference, Professor John G Weisend II, Chairman of the International Commission on Cryogenic Engineering, announced and presented the 2024 ICEC Youth Award – the Gustav and Ingrid Klipping Award. Dr. Zhu Shaolong from the College of Energy Engineering, Zhejiang University, won this honor for his outstanding research achievements in the field of cryogenic engineering and was invited to give a wonderful report at the conference.

Dr. Zhu graduated from the College of Energy Engineering, Zhejiang University in 2021 with a major in refrigeration and cryogenic engineering, under the supervision of Prof. Qiu Limin, and underwent joint training at the National High Magnetic Field Laboratory in the United States. He has made remarkable research achievements in the fields of large-scale low-temperature air separation, low-energy hydrogen liquefaction process design, and continuous conversion hydrogen heat exchanger, and has published more than 20 SCI papers. This award is not only a recognition of his personal research ability, but also a reflection of the research strength of the School of Energy Engineering of Zhejiang University in the field of cryogenic engineering.
