On November 28, 2023, the kick-off meeting for the national research and development project to Sino-Finnish was successfully held. The project, entitled 'Key Technologies for Energy-Carbon Joint Regulation of Regional Integrated Energy Systems Based on Mechanism-Data Fusion, 'is hosted by the College of Energy and Engineering at Zhejiang University and led by Associate Researcher Xiaojie Lin.

The kick-off meeting took place at the Yuquan Campus of Zhejiang University in Hangzhou, China, and was attended by over 30 participants. Professor Wei Zhong of the College of Energy and Engineering at Zhejiang University chaired the opening ceremony of the meeting. Professor Zitao Yu from the same college represented Zhejiang University in delivering a welcome speech. Researcher Liuliu Du-Ikonen from Lappeenranta University of Technology , gave a speech on behalf of the Finnish side. The kick-off meeting's consulting expert group comprised Professors and Senior engineers from the University of Science and Technology of China, Zhejiang University, Southeast University, China Energy Conservation and Environmental Protection Group Co., Ltd.

Associate Researcher Xiaojie Lin, representing the project's lead institution, reported on the overall project plan at the meeting. Eemi Oskari Fagerström, the Group Manager, and Tuomas Pekka Laine, the Senior Consultant, representing the Finnish lead institution of the project, introduced the development of Granlund Group Oy and reported on the project plan. Researcher Liuliu Du-Ikonen reported on the development status of Lappeenranta University of Technology.
