The 4th International Training Workshop of Waste to Energy successfully held

The 4th International Training Workshop of Waste to Energy for Developing Countries was successfully held in Hangzhou on November 4, 2019. More than 40 participants attended the opening ceremony, including Lingping Xi, Director of Science and Technology Cooperation Department in Zhejiang Provincial Department of Science and Technology, Weiying Chen, Deputy Director of Office of Global Engagement, Zhejiang University, Professor Qunxing Huang, Vice Dean of the college of Energy Engineering, Zhejiang University, Professor Jinsong Zhou, Secretary of the Institute of Thermal Power Engineering of Zhejiang University and 22 participants and teacher representatives. The opening ceremony was hosted by Professor Xiaodong Li from the Institute of Thermal Power Engineering who was also in charge of the training course.

The International Training Workshop of Waste to Energy has been hosted for the fourth consecutive time since 2016. The first three sessions have educated 65 participants, including government officials, university teachers and business personnel from 15 developing countries. The international impact of the training workshop is increasing year by year. It received more than 150 applications from 30 developing countries in Asia, Africa and South America. A total of 22 participants from 13 countries have been selected in this year. The participants will receive a 15-day training and study tour. The training content covers laws and regulations of waste treatment and disposal in China, incineration technology, operation, management and other related course content. The participants will also have the opportunity to visit Zhuji, Ningbo and other places to engage in field learning.
