The Academic Committee Annual Conference of State Key Laboratory of Clean Energy Utilization of Zhejiang University was successfully held at Shaoyifu Science and Technology Hall on November 9, 2015.
Jianhua Yan, vice president of Zhejiang University, attended the conference and delivered his address. More than 10 well-known experts and scholars including academician Kechang Xie, Kefa Cen and Yong Chen from the Chinese Academy of Engineering were invited to the conference. And more than 200 professors and graduates of the laboratory also took part in the conference. And the meeting was host by Prof. Mingjiang Ni.
In the conference, vice president Jianhua Yan of Zhejiang University delivered his address on behalf of the school. Two plenary speeches “Strategic Research and Consideration on Promotion of Energy Production and Consumption Revolution” and “Concept and Progress on Constructing Energy Knowledge System” were given by academician Kechang Xie.
Zhongzhi Tai, director of the Basic Research Department at Technology Office of Ministry of Education, pointed out that efficient and clean utilization of coal possesses a strategic position during the key period of reform and development and hoped that the lab are able to grasp the opportunities, cope with challenges and make more great progress while combining the national 13th Five-Year Plan.
And Jun Ji, director of the third engineering department of National Natural Science Foundation, firstly introduced an overall results of the application for the National Natural Science Fund in 2015, and then gave a detailed guidance on fund application.
Followed, Zhongyang Luo, dean of the lab, gave a report of new progresses and achievements of the lab and its members in year 2015.
In the past year, the State Key Laboratory of Clean Energy Utilization has made good achievements in many aspects such as scientific research, personnel cultivating and international cooperation and won the first prize of Zhejiang Science and Technology Award, the second prize of National Teaching Achievement Award and the first prize of Graduate Teaching Achievement Award of China Academic Degrees and Graduate Education Association.
And with the construction of Qinshan Lake Energy Research and Development Base, it will lay a solid foundation for the research on efficient and clean utilization of coal. Luo also pointed out the key works at the next step. Lab members Gang Xiao, Xuecheng Wu, and Tao Wang, and Yanwei Zhang also made their special reports in the conference.
In the afternoon, the Academic Committee Board Meeting was held and hosted by academician Kechang Xie.
