2:30 PM, May 21st, 2011, foundation conference of department of energy branch of alumni association of Zhejiang University is held in Yongqian Theater. Vice president of the alumni association Yuzhi Wang, academician Kefa Ceng of the department of energy, leaders of the department and candidate for the council, alumni representatives as well as teachers and students of the department, a total of 500 people attended the meeting. Constitution of the branch alumni association as well as recommended candidates for the council was decided during the meeting. Academician Kefa Ceng made the subject speech. Ceng introduced the history and current situation of the department, and prospects were made for future development.
Prof. Zhongyang Luo, chair of the department made the concluding speech. Luo pointed out that the department of energy was founded in the year of 1978, thus share a close relationship with the reform and opening-up policy. The department developed rapidly with proceeding of the reform, and is now recognized as one of the leading programs nationwide, seeming advantages and great accomplishments have been witnessed in the cultivating of undergraduate and graduate students. Luo stated that these achievements were closely bounded to the contributions alumni have offered to make, the branch association will bring the alumni and the department together, bridging among the alumni as well as in between the alumni and the department more effectively.
