On the night of 10th March, 2011, the launching ceremony of the fourth college student energy saving and emission reduction competition of Zhejiang University was successfully held in classroom East 2-102 in Zijingang Campus.
The opening address was given by vice director of the office of research training and external communication of undergraduate school, Yiping Mao. He introduced the current situation concerning the rapid development of academic competition, and gave his congratulations to the great achievement that has been made by ZJUers during the third national competition of college student energy saving and emission reduction. After that, chair of the Institute for Power Thermal Science and Power System, secretary of national competition of energy saving and emission reduction, Prof. Ya Hu made his speech. Introduction was made on the passed competitions as well as the national ones, and the philosophy of the competition was stressed. Vice director of department of energy engineering, prof. Limin Qiu, gave his encouraging speech. He emphasized the importance of learning with hands and brain, practice and innovation, making friends and cooperation to the competition, and highlighted the meaning of energy saving and emission reduction. Finally, chairman of energy saving and emission reduction committee, Jinyuan Qian, briefed the procedure and cautions of the competition.
